Why choose a female surgeon

Shhh... we're shining a light on a lesser known fact, it is scientifically proven that female surgeons have better outcomes.*

Recent research has shown the following advantages of choosing a female surgeon:

1. Lower chance of death from surgery

2. Less likely to be readmitted to hospital after surgery

3. Less likely to suffer a major medical complication within 90 days or a year after surgery

4. Female surgeons are more likely to use patient-centred decision making

5. Female surgeons are more likely to collaborate

6. Female surgeons tend to operate more slowly and with more care
